| Abstract |
|
The purposes of this study were to verify how Mass media Pressure, Body Surveillance, Sociocultural Awareness towards Appearance, and Appearance Satisfaction had an influence on Cosmetic Management Intention and Weight Management Intention. To achieve the purposes, a questionnaire was conducted to 781 Male and Female College Students. Data were analyzed by SPSS 10.0 program. The results of this study were summarized as follow: First, there were significant differences in Mass media Pressure, Body Surveillance, Sociocultural Awareness towards Appearance, Appearance Satisfaction, Cosmetic Management Intention and Weight Management Intention by gender. Second, Mass media Pressure, Body Surveillance, and Sociocultural Awareness towards Appearance had Important Effects On Female College Students` Cosmetic Management Intention and Weight Management. Third, Mass media Pressure and Body Surveillance had Important Effects On Male College Students` Cosmetic Management Intention and Weight Management. |
