| Abstract |
|
This study was carried out to investigate the effects on the mutagenicity and activity of Poncirus trifoliata. Using an Ames mutagenicity test, which has been used to assess both mutagenic and antimutagenic effects of various molecules, it was observed that the water extract of Poncirus trifoliata did not showed any mutagenic activities. but the Poncirus trifoliata water extracts showed inhibitory effects of 43~86% on the mutagenicity induced by indirect mutagen of benzo(a)pyrene (B(a)P) and aflatoxin B1(AFB1) in Salmonella typhimurium TA98. The antimutagenic effect increased with increasing concentration of the water extract toward N-methyl-N`nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine(MNNG) and 4-nitroquinoline-1-oxide (4-NQO). |
