| Abstract |
|
Most marketing practitioners prospect that the beauty industry will be one of major industries in future. Thus they have been paying more attention to the beauty industry. In this paper we analyzed the four korean words (beautiful, pretty, fine, stylish) which are reported to be related with the beauty concept. We collected a total 217 samples as data through survey on university students, and explored the relationships among the four beauty-related concepts. The main empirical results are as follows. Firstly, the concept of pretty is more related to the young whereas the mature is more related to the concept of beautiful. Secondly, the concept of stylish is more related to the masculine whereas the feminine is more related to the concept of fine. Thirdly, the concept of beautiful is more widely used to express attractiveness in various situations than the other concepts. |
