| Abstract |
|
The purpose of this study is to examine the changes of hair styles in contestants for Korea women`s beauty contest(Miss Korea). and to figure out the relation between hair styles of women in general and hair styles of contestants for beauty contest. The hair styles of Miss Korea constestants reflected the trend in general women each period. We notice that the hair styles which makes the face and the body of contestants look better and the style that magnifies the feminineness of them were preferred. Up-styled hair was preferred in 1960`s and 1970`s, and permanent waving style was the leading trend in 1980`s and 1990`s in the Miss Korea contest. Also we notice that the trend being shifted from having standardized hair styles for the contest show to unique hair styles that fit different people as heading into the late 1990`s. |
