Recearch Paper : Relative Comparison of Effects of Natural Hair Essence Made of Oriental Medicine Extract

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to compare relatively the effects of hair essences that were made of natural materials and oriental medicine extract on the hair treatments. Basic materials used for the hair essence were oilve oil, pine leaf extract, and exopolysaccharide (EPS) produced by a lactic acid bacterium, to which an extract of deer antler, Glycyrrhiza uralensis, Acorus gramineus Soland, Angelica gigas, or Artemisia capillaries was added. The natural hair essences containing an extract of deer antler, Glycyrrhiza uralensis, Acorus gramineus Soland, Angelica gigas, or Artemisia capillaries were used experimentally by 20 volunteers in order to compare and estimate the treatment effects on the hair conditions that are gloss, moisturizing, coating, nourishing, antistatic, softeness, drying speed, and flavour. In the evaluations obtained from experimentees` responses, the general treatment effect of the hair essence containing deer antler on the hair conditions was relatively better than others except flavor. On the other hand, the treatment efficacy of hair essence containing Angelica gigas was relatively worse than others. According to the comparison results, the deer antler and Acorus gramineus Soland were relatively better than others as the ingredient for the natural hair essence.
